3C's Rules

It's been a long, productive process, but we finally made it to the end! We have our rules for the classroom. It all started with the students generating a list of all the rules they believed were important for us to follow. This list contained a lot of "Don't do..." and "No..." We worked at turning those negative statements around into positive ones that stated what we should do. From there we worked the long list into categories, and then named each category. The list was narrowed down to a few final choices and then today the students voted on which ones they believed would help us do our best learning every day. And the winners are:

"Do Your Best Work"
"Show Empathy For Others"
"Take Responsibility For Your Actions"

We will be working hard every day to maintain a positive learning climate that lives and breathes by these reminders. Take Care.

Picture Day

We'll be taking a whole-school picture outside tomorrow and Mr. Landry has asked that all students wear white shirts. If you have an all white (or mostly white) shirt to wear tomorrow, please do! Check back soon to see the picture. Smile! :)

Off to a Great Start!

Our first week of school is over and we are on our way to beginning a new one. Last week was busy with new friends, new classroom, new teachers, new supplies, and being upstairs! There were (and continue to be) many routines and expectations to follow. The students have been doing very well with remembering all these important parts of our day. We had a chance to do many "get to know you" activities to help build our classroom community, and we'll continue to participate in these as we become more comfortable with one another.

This week our focus is on our hopes and goals for third grade, creating our classroom rules, and completing beginning of the year assessments. These are great ways for us to continue to get to know one another as learners.

Thank you to all who checked the supply list provided at both the end of last school year and this summer as well. Having the necessary supplies allows your child to be successful every day. If there are some things that you were unable to get and/or still need to send in, please do so as soon as possible.

Check back often for important information!
